Please see my post yesterday about Sirotica and about the breakdown of funds needed.
Sirotica – the lovely dog found with her throat gaping open in a terrible wound, most likely inflicted by owners of fighting dogs ‘training’ their dogs on her – had her operation today:
No donations for her have come in.
UPDATE: November 22, 2012
240 Euros have come in for Sirotica, Thank you everyone! It’s enough for 2 months at King Pension. We still need more donations for vaccinations, spaying and further stay at King Pension should no forever home be offered. Note that there are 17 beautiful dogs that have been rescued (not including the rescues from Hresa) that are in dog pension, and no foster or forever home…. that funds must be raised for otherwise they go on the street. if you are interested in adopting, please contact me.
Please help – any amount will make a huge difference. If you want to donate via bank transfer, details are here. If you need receipts for proof of expenditure, these can be sent to you. Please help. Also if you can offer this lovely dog a forever home, contact me.

This site is dedicated to Vučko. Read his story and don’t let him have suffered and died in vain. Please help the stray dogs and cats in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The situation there is utterly dire, Vučko is but one amongst many horrifically abused animals. Go here to find out how to help them. Money is needed for food, medicine and foster housing. You can donate via PayPal and I would then transfer the money to Bosnia. I can also give you the PayPal email address of my Bosnian animal welfare contacts if you prefer. Even just one dollar or one euro will help.
Im so sorry to hear no donations have come in for this poor creature. As I said i will donate next month a little amount but now it’s impossible. This is my first month working in a year and haven’t had any incomes. I will have some next month so i will donate something for her.
Patrica — please don’t feel bad, you have already been so generous. xo
i’ve donated unfortunately I could only donate 2 euros I feel really bad about it to be honest. I hope it can help even if a little. Emma
Emma, it ALL helps, thanks so much. xo
I have just sent a donation for Sirotica lets hope she will go to a good home now.
Do you know how Oldie is getting on he is such a lovely old boy.
Thank you so much Kim. We have only just today received enough money for another month for Oldie at King Pension and so far no one has offered him a forever home…
Sandra, I am praying that many donations will come in. I just posted your info on Facebook. I have just donated €10. I know that’s a small amount but I will be sending some money every month. God bless you! Julie
Julie thank you so much! And yes, finally some donations are coming in 🙂
Good!
I only did 10 euro also! All I had left!!!!!!! Still better then nothing!
I live in the US and wanted to donate, but it seems like this is avaiable for people living in Canada only. Even though, I changed the country to US, I am still required to enter province name.
Joanna, I’m sorry about that. I don’t know why it is doing this. You can set any province. Or donate directly to me at sandra@sandrajensen.net.
For some reason debit cards are not coming through, but I used pay pall and donated 20. There was no space to enter SIROTICA and I really wanted to help that doggie. If you can mark a donation coming from me for Sirotica, I would be grateful. I come from Poland where the issue of homeless/abused/neglected pets and animals is also huge. Every day I pray for wisdom and knowledge for people because only then we can make humane choices. Education is the KEY.
Joanna, absolutely I’ll make sure the donation goes to Sirotica.
And yes, I totally agree, education is key.
I just donated 11/21 and I live in US. Used Pay Pal. No problem. Try again.
I do not see my donation here yet but———
I’ve just added an update about donations. I may not make another update unless she is homed: All dogs in pension are continually needing funds to stay in pension and at 120 per month it’s an ongoing difficulty. Read about Marley for example, rescued in late August, he still has no home and is in pension:

I want to help. Are these dogs doing better? I’m so upset by this!!
Sirotica has had her operation and is OK right now, thanks Dena.
I’m glad to hear that. How are the others?
Which ones, Dana?
The skinny ones in the picture? We’re they found an helped? The ones from the shelter
Can u tell me about the other dogs in all these horrible pictures? What are we doing to help those pictures disturbed its horrible 😦
Dena, the skinny one was euthanised (or simply killed) by the shelter the day after the activists first went in. They tried to take it away to safety, but were prevented. If you look on the individual posts you should be able to find out what happened to any individual dog I post up about, but it’s best you comment on the particular post that you want news about as there are hundreds of dogs and different things happen to each of them. Dogs were rescued from Hresa, but as per my latest post, the 6 puppies rescued have died of illness. Sirotica and Arca are in ‘pension’ unless someone offers to foster or adopt. Pension costs 120 euros a month, and this has to be funded by donations. Jelena has 17 rescued dogs in pension, you can imagine what it costs….. all this she fundraises for as do I. We try to get them adopted, but it’s very difficult.
I was wondering about all of the dogs the ones in pension too. I donated to volunteers in Bosnia 60$ but I wanna help the dogs find homes too.
Dena, the money you donated will go towards helping all the dogs — unless you have a specific dog you’d like to help. And yes they need homes – are you in the USA? It’s very costly to bring dog over to the US, around $1000 and is quite difficult. But it’s easier in Europe.
Yes I’m in the USA. I hope my money donated goes towards dogs. I couldn’t eat after reading these stories yesterday
Dena you can be 100% certain the money goes directly towards the dogs. There is a small percentage that is taken off donations by PayPal fees and bank transfer, but other than that NO percentage is taken by any person: it goes straight to the dogs in need. If you specify a dog or cause listed here on this website it will be allocated to that dog or cause, otherwise Jelena Paunovic and her organisation Zivot will allocate funds to whatever dog needs it most. You can read about Jelena here: https://inmemoryofvucko.wordpress.com/about/jelena-paunovic/
I just want these dogs to be treated good. Cause it just makes me sick 😦
Dena you are a good person.
