The “Aggressive” Dogs of Sarajevo

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAJournalist and animal activist Jelena Paunovic walked the streets of Sarajevo to film the so-called ‘aggressive’ stray dogs of the city. She has taken photographs and a video of her findings… One of the photographs is above. Here is the video she took:

Please read Jelena’s post on her blog, Journalists for Animals:  Sarajevo: Are abandoned dogs truly dangerous?

I too wandered through Sarajevo recently, and not a single stray I came across was aggressive in any way. Here is just one of many:

  1. Any excuse for more killing, whose fault is it that there are so many stray dogs there, the dogs did not get there on their own, other countries do not have dogs wandering around, the fault is the people who put them there in the first place, and make excuses saying they are aggresive, the only animals who are aggresive there are the animals who put them there in the first place,HUMANS.

  2. No excuse for a nation who is unable to control animals population by neuter programs to prevent animal cruelty. We live in 21st century, be civilized and. Please treat innocent animals with respect and dignity, please acting humanely by enforce a laws for animal rights’ protection. Provide stray animals with local shelters services, educate pets’ owners to work on a humane solutions to bring down the stray populations, not by killing them. These dogs are not guilty for being homeless dogs. Homeless is not a crime, killing innocent living beings is a crime.
